Celebre Pro-HD Loose Mineral Finishing Powder by Mehron

During The Makeup Show (happened in March 2012), I received a powder from Mehron from the Blogger Preview Event.
Mehron isn't a well known brand in the beauty blogging stratosphere, but they should be. They make great, high quality products for makeup artists. Here's their mission...

"Dedicated to the development and manufacture of performance oriented makeup products of high quality and value, incorporating consumer usage benefits beyond normal expectations. To utilize the skills, the facility and the expertise we've gained over eight decades to develop and manufacture a full range of consumer health and beauty products for a select group of private label marketers."

They have all kinds of products from theatrical to beauty. This powder is from their beauty section.
Product Review: Celebre Pro-HD Loose Mineral Finishing Powder in Light/Medium

Where to purchase: mehron.com and stores that sell Mehron
Price: $14.95 for 0.41 oz/ 12 g

Made in USA

Description from the back: Celebre Pro-HD Loose Mineral Powder is the perfect luxurious matte finishing powder that perfectly compliments both Celebre Pro-HD Cream and Powder foundations. Made of French delaminated talc that is transparent, offering no whitening, keeping your colors bright and true. It improves slip and adhesion and offers lubricity. This ultra-fine powder provides the finishing touch that perfects and sets makeup for a healthy, flawless coverage.
Here's the back of the postcard the powder came with. It has the description which I wrote above, as well as, extra information.
Ingredients:
Thoughts: I've always heard about Mehron and their great quality products. Even though I heard about the brand, I never got anything. I'm one of those people who needs to see at least one product in person to be drawn to the brand. Since it's so hard finding this brand in stores, I never had the urge to get it. For that reason, I was excited to try this product!

When I received this in March, I was disappointed because it was too light for my skin tone. Since I'm getting paler with this winter weather, I knew I had to try this out. The packaging is very simple which I don't mind. I also like that it's a very sturdy. When you close the lid, you can feel how tight it is and know that loose powder will not come out. It's also very easy to open and again know that loose powder will not poof out.
The container comes with a sifter. You can take it out if you don't want to use it.
Here's a swatch of the powder on my hand. It looks light on my skin, but it's a perfect match.
Here's how the powder looks on me.

Now for my overall opinion... I love it! I tend to find a lot of powder including mineral powders cake-y if you apply too much. No matter how much I apply with this product, it looks natural on me. Not only is it natural looking, it's on the matte side. It doesn't have sparkle or shine. If you're looking for a heavy coverage, this product isn't it. It's on the light to medium side depending how much you apply. Since I have dry skin, most product tends to last all day on me. This is no exception. It lasts all day and I like that I don't have to reapply. To end my opinion, I find that all descriptions written on boxes/websites are never 100% accurate. This one is an exception. The description is 100% true to what they wrote!

Pros:
* Mehron; brand makeup artists use.
* Tight lid; no fall outs.
* Light to medium coverage.
* Matte.
* Natural looking.
* Flawless coverage.

Cons:
* Hard to find in stores.

Would repurchase: Yes!

Holika Holika Love Fantasy Blush

Since my dad went to Korea this year (October), I ordered some stuff. This is my first haul, Holika Holika. I already reviewed Holika Holika Heart Ful Moisture Lipstick. Now I'm going to review Holika Holika Love Fantasy Blush...

Where to purchase: holikaholika.co.kr, gmarket.co.kr, and anywhere they sell Holika Holika
Price: around $10

Made in Korea

Thoughts: One thing about Korean products, they sell me with the cute packaging. Okay it's not only Korean, but pretty much all Asian brands especially Korean and Japanese. Their packaging is so cute!
When it comes to tin containers, I wasn't a big fan but I don't mind now. For one thing, it doesn't come with a mirror. Then again I hardly reapply my blushes, as well as, carry them. My philosophy is that a blush should last all day unless you have really oily skin. It makes sense that you have to reapply. If a blush doesn't last all day, it's not worth it. Knowing I don't carry my blushes, I don't need a mirror. It actually saves money, as well as, I'm guessing tin would cost a lot less to make then the packaging of American blushes. I could be wrong, but that's what I think.

Secondly, I felt it was weak in comparison to the packaging of American blushes. Then I changed my mind when I saw the recycle logo on the back. I'm a huge believer in recycling. Anything to save this world for the future generation!
Unlike American blushes, Korean blushes come with a sponge or at least from my experience. They even add a ribbon so you can hold onto that as you apply the blushes. It's a such a cute idea! Even though it comes with a sponge, I hardly use it. I use brushes to apply my blushes because sponges grab germs. Yes, you can wash them and reuse. In all honesty, I'm lazy. At the same time, most people would put the sponge back into the container. It would contaminate the blush. So for that reason, I just use a brush.
Here's the bottom of the container. If you look at the dark print, it actually tells you the day the blush was made. In Korea, they don't write the expiration date. Actually, I have seen some products with the expiration date but most products they list the day it was produced. Mine was produced April 19, 2012.
The one blush I was drawn to was Red, but I wanted to be safe with Pink. I have never tried red blush and don't know if I can pull it off. It's always better to be safe than regret. The pink blush has three levels of pink. The top part is light pink with sparkles. The bottom part is medium pink, and the middle is bright pink with the word "Love". The patterns on the light and medium pink is pretty. It's the same pattern as the lid of the container.
Here's a swatch of the blush. The left one is the top part of the blush, light pink with sparkles. The middle is the middle with the word "Love". The right one is the bottom part of the blush, medium pink.
Here's how the blush looks on me. I applied it lightly since the bright pink, middle colored, is the main color my brush picks up.

My overall opinion, I actually like it! When I put my brush into the blush, it mainly picks up the middle color which can be bright on my light skin. Even though it picks up the bright pink color, it's easy to blend with the brush. I find it hard to blend with certain blushes but this one is pretty decent. I also like that it doesn't have a lot of sparkles. I tend to like matte to dewy blushes. I'm not a big fan of sparkle/glittery blushes. It can be overwhelming if your eyes are sparkly/shiny which I tend to grab for. The best part it lasts all day on me. I don't have to reapply.

Pros:
* Cute packaging.
* Light weight.
* Recyclable.
* Comes with a sponge with ribbon.
* Manufacturing date.
* Three different degrees of pink.
* Different textures from sparkle to matte.
* Easy to blend.
* Not too sparkly.
* Lasts all day.

Cons:
* Hard to find in stores.
* Does not come with a mirror if you need it.
* Do not have expiration date.

Would repurchase: Yes.

I haven't bought earrings in a long time from Forever 21. Actually, that's a lie. I bought one a month ago but I never took a picture of it. It's just a simple hoop earrings with fake crystals. There's nothing original about it, and for that reason I didn't take a picture.
I bought this past weekend. It's a simple earring, but it's not original. ;)

It's taken from the website. They said it better than I could have! The first time around I reviewed Hana Elite 1" Flat Iron. I still use the flat iron to this day and glad I got it! This time I will review Hana Hair Dryer.

Thoughts: I received this hair dryer at the most perfect time! My old hair dryer broke and was in decision of choosing a new one. For that reason, I had high hopes from the beginning. Sometimes it's not a good thing and sometimes it is. Read on to find out what I thought. ;)

Before I review the hair dryer, let's talk about packaging. Misikko really take great care of their packaging. Not only is it sturdy so it doesn't break, it's packaged beautifully.
When I opened the big box, this is what was inside. It's so gorgeous! I love the purple, in the plastic heart container, and white flowers. I put it together with the red and white flowers I received the first time (yes, I still have it). Not only that, but there were more underneath the bubble wrap. Here are all the goodies I received.
There was a teddy bear underneath the bubble wrap and the purple flowers in the plastic heart container.
They included ELF eyelash curler and a brush. I've heard great stuff about the ELF curler so I'm excited to try this out.
Here's a closer look at the brush.
Inside the purple bag (I received two), there's a hand sanitizer and nail files. I felt like a kid opening up presents which was exciting since I hardly get presents nowadays *sigh*.
With every purchase from Misikko, you receive a pouch to put your styling tool. It's heat proof.
Here's how it looks when it's closed with the Hana logo.

Not only is the packaging beautiful, it comes with a sturdy box that you can re-use.
Top of the box.
Front of the box.
Inside the box and it comes with magnetic to close.
Bottom of the box.
Now for the hair dryer...
It's very sleek and classic looking. I love that the hair dryer is black. It's definitely appealing to professional users. It also comes with an attachment, the circle part, that you can hang on the side if you like. It's perfect for hair dressers.
You can use the hair dryer without the attachment.
You can use it with the attachment.
The other end of the hair dryer.
The handle of the hair dryer. It comes with multi-speed, as well as, different level of temperature.
Here's the plug. Let me tell you the cord is extremely long! It's great for professional, because it gives the hair dresser space to move around with the dryer.
Here's how my hair looks after I blow dried it. I have layers, but it hardly shows. After blow drying and not only does the layers show, my hair is smooth and sleek.

To end my thoughts, this hair dryer is amazing!!! For one thing, the levels of the speed is stronger than most hair dryers I have ever used. Their low would equal the strength of my highs of all the hair dryers I have used in the past. Therefore, this hair dryer is double the strength of all the hair dryers I have used in the past. Not only is it powerful, it doesn't damage the hair! Whenever I dry my hair, it becomes more sleeker and smooth. It feels so nice that I touch and play with it all the time. I already have straight hair, but it's a little on the frizzy side and makes me look like I have a lot of hair when I don't. With this dryer, my hair looks gorgeous. I've been comment how sleek my hair looks. Love it!

Pros:
* Hana; trustworthy brand.
* Comes with a sturdy box with magnets that you can re-use.
* Sleek, classic looking.
* Comes with an attachment to blow dry.
* Can hang on the side.
* Long cord; great for dressers to move around.
* Comes with different strength and temperature.
* Stronger than most home used hair dryers.
* Does not damage hair.
* Makes hair more sleek and smooth.

Cons:
* Hard to find in stores.
* Long cord; it could be bothersome if used at home.

Would repurchase: Yes!
